Winner of the Golden Shell at San Sebastian Film Festival 2013: Junior is a nine-year-old boy who has curly, "bad hair" and dreams of becoming a straight-haired singer. Junior doesn't really fit in anywhere, neither in society's traditional gender roles nor in the world of his overworked mother Marta, who begins to suspect that Junior might be homosexual. BAD HAIR is a riveting, provocative and heartbreaking domestic drama.

Biography: Mariana Rondón, born in 1966 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, works as director, screenwriter and visual artist. After studying Animated Film and Video Art in Paris, she graduated at first generation of the film school EICTV in Cuba. Her short film STREET 22 received 22 international awards. Her first feature, AT MIDNIGHT AND A HALF received five Opera Prima awards and participated in more than 40 international film festivals. Her feature POSTCARDS FROM LENINGRAD received 23 international awards, such as FIPRESCI at Kerala, Grand Prix at Biarritz and Revelation Jury Award at the São Paulo International Film Festival.
