GIMME DANGER
by Jim Jarmusch

USA 2016 108 min original version with German subtitles

Script: Jim Jarmusch, DoP: Tom Krueger, Editor: Affonso Gonçalves, Adam Kurnitz, Production: Low Mind Films, Producers: José Ibáñez, Carter Logan, Fernando Sulichin, with: Jim Osterberg (Iggy Pop), Ron Asheton, Scott Asheton, James Williamson, Steve Mackay, Mike Watt, Kathy Asheton, Danny Fields

Emerging from Ann Arbor Michigan amidst a countercultural revolution, "The Stooges’" powerful style of rock-n-roll blew a crater in the musical landscape of the late 1960s. Assaulting audiences with a blend of rock, blues and R&B, the band planted the seeds for what would be called punk in the decades that followed. The film chronicles the story of one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time.

"Jarmusch’s contention that the Stooges were the best rock’n’roll band ever is the starting point for a wonderfully eloquent documentary; not only does Iggy Pop contribute (verbally and facially) articulate reminiscences about the rise and fall of the band, but there’s a lovely mix of archive footage, interviews, photos and even animation to accompany the music." (Sight & Sound)
