Yue, Editor: Bernardo Britto, Producers: Brett Potter, Ben Cohen, Cast: Wyatt Cenac, Camille Rutherford, James Benson, Martin Anderson, Sarah Willis A young French woman hires a filmmaker to document her self-imposed political asylum in Argentina after supposedly leaking highly confidential government information As soon as the filmmaker and his two interns arrive at a remote holistic center safe haven, however, they begin to think she might be more interested in singing Britney Spears songs than helping unearth a huge government conspiracy. "You might think there’s not much room for laughter, but the occasionally amazing and odd JACQUELINE ARGENTINE probably earns the distinction of being the first post-Snowden existential indie comedy thriller. (…) [An] engaging performance by the charming Rutherford." (www.indiewire.com) "A playful, lo-fi travelogue" (The New Yorker) |
