Kurt Raab in the role of the Fuhrer in the Rainer Werner Fassbinder-produced satire. Lommel was not only in charge of script and directing, but also took on the part of Joseph Goebbels. When he sees her in a movie, Hitler falls in love with Marlene Dietrich. He sends Goebbels after the actress who has moved abroad, to bring her "home to the Reich". His affection is not requited, though, and the film star provokes the Fuhrer to the point where he chews on his carpet under her orders! Another highlight of the film is a scene at the Obersalzberg mountain, starring a yodelling Fassbinder (in Lederhosen) and Raab.
In this scandalous film, Lommel combined excerpts from the early Marlene-Dietrich movies with documentary material of Adolf Hitler and acted scenes, and from this arranged a fictitious encounter.
