Humor, rhythm and sensitivity mark ROMEOS, the story of 20-year-old Lukas, born a girl but thanks to testosterone injections experiencing male puberty. In spite of all obstacles he lives the sex rather than gender he feels. His best friend Ine is of great support and takes him to parties where he meets attractive Fabio, who has his own difficulties. But how to communicate transsexualism to someone so manly, so self-confident? With great authenticity the film shows how much courage is required for him to be true to himself and to be happy with all his longings and desires.
Well-paced and humorous, the film’s keen sensitivity reveals the highs and lows of its sympathetic protagonists on the way to becoming an adult.
