Actually Göran Hugo Olsson searched material for a documentary on a soul singer, when he came across footage shot by Swedish reporters 1967–75 in the USA. THE BLACK POWER MIXTAPE 1967–1975 uncovers a real treasure of unique material lost in the archives for decades. The Swedish journalists knew them all, the leaders of the Black Power movement, among them Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale, Angela Davis and Eldridge Cleaver, and got to film them in very private moments. The archival footage in this documentary well worth seeing is combined with fresh interviews with contemporaries still alive: Harry Belafonte, Melvin Van Peebles, and Danny Glover.
