Submission of film for the exground filmfest 26 is possible as of now
Submission of films and videos in the categories main program (American Independents, Neues aus Deutschland, International feature- and short films), special program and contests (German short film contest, International short film contest, Wiesbaden-Special – Short film contest, youth days – International youth film contest) in the genres fiction, documentary, animation and experimental film. The submission is free of charge.
Closing date July 1, 2013 (submission of film)

exground filmfest 25 closes and celebrates successful festival
On Sunday, 25th November exground filmfest 25 invited for the closing ceremony to Caligari FilmBühne. On ten days the festival had presented the highlights of international independent film in Wiesbaden. Numerous international guests attended the festival in the Hessian capital and presented their works to large numbers of audience. Again more than 14,000 viewers attended the festival’s events.

Opening film SUMMER GAMES // A WALL IS A SCREEN draws more and more audience each year // HAND IN HAND wins Wiesbaden youthfilm-competition
This weekend the 25th edition of exground filmfest started. Up until November 25, 2012 the Wiesbaden festival presents the highlights of international independent film.
exground filmfest 25 was officially opened on Friday, 16. November, in the packed Caligari FilmBühne with the Swiss youthfilm SUMMER GAMES by Rolando Colla. Before the film started, Wiesbaden's head of cultural department Rose-Lore Scholz and Reiner Schöler from the Hessian ministry for science and arts stressed the unique role of exground filmfest among the Hessian film festivals in their welcoming speeches and congratulated the organizing team on the 25. jubilee. The Swiss consul general Pius Bucher agreed with his previous speakers and introduced the country-in-focus Switzerland program.

exground filmfest 25 welcomes guests from all over the world
Switzerland country-in-focus // filmmaker-talks // a program of 250 films
exground filmfest 25 welcomes many international guests in Wiesbaden for the jubilee edition November, 16 – 25, 2012 and looks forward to animated discussions of the 250 independently produced short- and feature length films in the festival program.
For this year's country-in-focus program numerous Swiss guests are invited to Wiesbaden, to present their films. For the award-winning film 180° by Cihan Inan exground filmfest welcomes not just the director, but also lead actor Michael Neuenschwander for this year's festival. For the Swiss documentary A GLORIOUS MESS the protagonists Elmira Claude and Thomas Moll will be on side, to present this unusual film to the audience in person. In the exground youth days Güzin Kar presents her film FLYING FISH, counting among the five most successful Swiss productions in 2011. For the Swiss short film TONS OF PASSION exground filmfest welcomes the director Corina Schwingruber and co-director Nina Steinemann.
