In good festival tradition the team’s favorite shorts start off exground
filmfest – BEST OF SHORTS: nine films from Belgium, France, Great
Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Germany – among them
award-winners of international festivals and two German premieres. Many
films are dealing with family, for instance in connection with
groundbreaking inventions like in HÄLKKE 9, supposed to make a
housewife’s life easier. In THE WEDDING Mirta, a Cuban in Madrid,
desperately tries to be on time for her daughter’s wedding. In LONG
DISTANCE INFORMATION Alex tries to talk with his father on the phone. In
ELEPHANT FEET Thomas is lonely in a foreign country. IN SEARCH OF A
DONKEY – together with a Japanese butcher friends want to eat a donkey
for Christmas. They could have used a lesson or two from the hunters in
BUCK FEVER!
