exground filmfest 27: Unforgettable impressions from the first half of the festival:
On Sunday, November 16, Carina Kühne, the main actress in BE MY BABY, enchanted the audience following the screening and clarified, that people with Down's syndrome are not sick, but merely different. BE MY BABY is about a young woman with Down's syndrome wanting to live a self-determined life.

successful double opening // new route for A WALL IS A SCREEN //
Hitchcock-homage wins Wiesbaden Youthfilm Competition
Last Friday exground filmfest 27 was opened with two international premieres from the country in focus Mexico. The start made THE HAMSTERS, a family comedy by newcomer Gilberto González Penilla. The director welcomed the audience in a video. GUTEN TAG, RAMÓN was wsold out at 10 pm at Caligari FilmBühne. Wiesbaden head of department of culture Rose-Lore Scholz and Günter Schmitteckert from the Hessian Ministry for Science and Arts had previously underlined exground filmfest's unique position in their greetings. Mexican consul Horacio Saavedra Archundia joined in and introduced the country in focus program Mexico.

Scopitones // Live-Film-Remix // A Wall Is A Screen // Gong-Show + Karaoke
In addition to selected highlights of international independent film exground filmfest presents from November 14. to 23. with „xtra“ a multifold supporting program: so-called Scopitones from the 1950s and 60s, a live remix accompanying Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL, the city walk with short films A WALL IS A SCREEN, the exground gong-show, karaoke and, of course, the opening party.
