The Vietnamese Bien and Thien have illegally come to Berlin, hiding at their older relatives Nga and Nam. They are willing to live in total submissiveness for work and apparent safety. Fierce fights about territories between the cigarette dealers and the erratic outbursts of Nga unsettle both their lives. Secretly they try to build up their own livelihood – but that inevitably leads to an escalation.
Biography: Lisa Violetta Gaß, born in 1984 in Bingen/Germany, prior to her final secondary school examinations in 2003, had several jobs as assistant director at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden. From 2002 to 2009 she worked as editing trainee, assistant director trainee and assistant director for various film and TV projects. From 2006 to 2009 she studied directing at the ifs cologne, graduating with the "Bachelor of Arts". 2010–2011 she worked as project coordinator for One Fine Day Films Steinmann & Tykwer. In 2013, she was participant of the Berlinale Talent Campus.
