Biography: Horacio Alcalá, born in Guadalajara/Mexico, moved to Germany to study film after working for a television production company in his hometown. Alcalá, who has been involved with the circus arts for seven years, including with Cirque du Soleil, travelled to eleven different countries over the course of five years to capture these stories. He found a new reality where aspiring circus performers can learn their craft in specialized schools rather than through family apprenticeships. He currently works and lives in Spain.
