Giovana is Leo’s best friend. They spend their afternoons at the pool and just hang out. But there are limits to their intimacy. Leo is rather self-contained; even his schoolmates’ barbs don’t bother him. Tired of his parents’ over-protective attitude, this blind 15-year-old wants to take control of his own life and apply for a school exchange. But the arrival of the new pupil Gabriel turns his life upside down.

Biography: Daniel Ribeiro, born in São Paulo/Brazil in 1982, studied film at the University of São Paulo. His shorts were shown at many international film festivals and received numerous awards; his short film YOU, ME AND HIM for instance, won the Crystal Bear at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival. THE WAY HE LOOKS is his first feature film.
