The Chinese government is the first to classify internet addiction as a clinical disorder. WEB JUNKIE features a Beijing treatment centre where adolescents are being deprogrammed, and follows three boys from the day they arrive at the centre, to their three-month treatment period, and their return home. The film provides a microcosm of modern Chinese society and investigates one of the symptoms of the internet age.

Shosh Shlam, a director, writer and producer from Israel, holds a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature from Bar Ilan University. She is also a graduate of the Theatre Department at Tel Aviv University, and studied at New York’s School of Visual Arts. Her award-winning documentaries that are mostly set in Israel have been screened at numerous festivals.

Hilla Medalia is a Peabody Award-winning director and producer, who has also received three Emmy nominations. Her films have won, among others, the Golden Warsaw Phoenix and the "Honorary One Future" Award at Munich Film Festival. She holds a Master of Arts from Southern Illinois University and is a co-founder of kNow Productions.
