Amidst a mosquito plague, Leonardo, struggling with the breakdown of his relationship, moves back to live with a grandfather who fights with everyone, and a father living with the melancholy of the unfinished. In a city once promised to become the hub of the Soviet nuclear project in the Caribbean, the scant remains of this world weigh down on these solitary men, who have yet to learn how to breathe under water.

Biography: Carlos M. Quintela, born in1984, studied film, communications and screenwriting in Cuba. During his studies, he made a number of short films that attracted positive responses at various film festivals. His first feature THE SWIMMING POOL (2011) screened at more than 20 international film festivals. THE PROJECT OF THE CENTURY (2015) is his second fiction feature.
