Dima (Jakob Matschenz), a young Russian, is about to be deported from Germany. The small-time crook finds shelter with student Sarah (Sandra Hüller), working on a documentary about the non-perspective of young foreigners. During shooting he hides in the attic and gradually turns into more than just the protagonist of Sarah’s film. She only realizes that, when they’ve both lost safe ground.
By and by they learn to fly.
Lewandowski’s dream cast is Sandra Hüller (Silver Bear for best actress, Berlinale 2006) and Jakob Matschenz, lending the characters realism and autheticity. A soulful film about love.
