Five films around home and identity, migration and escape. Writers and filmmakers reflecting their personal experience as immigrants. In a café in Tel Aviv two old ladies tell us their relationship towards home, especially towards their native Berlin, which they had to run from because of the Nazis. In Iraq visions and dreams of creative forces didn’t come true even after Saddam Hussein was toppled. Freedom and democratisation didn’t happen, forcing many artists to leave the country – among them a group of men, dancing in women’s roles, living in Sweden now. In the US-American middle-of-nowhere town of Leavenworth in the State of Washington it is very hard to tell reality from illusion.
