In two programs exground shows the best European short film had to offer the past year. For a number of years now 14 European film festivals in cooperation with the European Film Academy and United International Pictures (UIP) award the "Prix UIP", endowed with EUR 2,000 each. The winning films are automatically nominated for the European Film Award, category short film. Last year, the ceremony took place in Copenhagen. We show all last year’s award winners. SHORT MATTERS! – PART I shows the award winners of Cork, Drama (Athens), Edinburgh, Gent, Krakau, Tampere and Valladolid festivals.
