ZWEIER OHNE (COXLESS PAIR) tells the story of the friendship between Johann and Ludwig as they strive for the ultimate "buddy" relationship. Going well beyond what would be considered good and healthy, the pair attempts to become the ideal twins, driving their relationship based on their partnership in competitive rowing (coxless pairs) to the ultimate: to perfect harmony in mind, word, thought and deed.
More and more problems arise, when Johann falls in love with Ludwig’s sister Vera – and they have to hide their relationship, as they don’t want to hurt Ludwig, who – nevertheless – seems to suspect something. When Ludwig gets his driver’s license, he takes Johann with him on his motorbike. But what seems to be a ride at first sight, turns out to be a matter of life and death.
