A documentary road movie along the German freeway B 224 leading past cities, churches, factories, river banks, hospitals and waste dumps like everywhere in the world. In the splendid imagery of his award-winning films KOBE and MILLTOWN, MONTANA Rainer Komers documents a hybrid surrounding, which people are subjected to temporarily but yet can’t escape it. None of the frames in B 224 reminds of already seen images. With distanced, aesthetic shots of a brilliant camera work a German industrial landscape materializes, the economical blossoming of which was long ago.
The audiovisual watching takes the place of travelling thru artificial places, a world created by mankind. A remarkable, thought-inspring documentary.
