FRAUENZIMMER [SILVER GIRLS] is a film about growing old in a job, demanding at first glance young and firm bodies. Christel, Paula and Karolina make their living as sex workers. They started this work at an age other women devote their time to grandchildren. The documentary portrays very different personalities and lives of the three women. Very openly they let the audience into their lives. Self-confidently, proudly and with humour they show, what sex work means to them and to what lengths they’re willing to go for love, that can’t be bought.
A film about self-realization and feelings in a job, where feelings are mostly hidden behind make-up and routine. Also a film about getting older and the enjoyment of one’s own sexuality.
