The contest for best short film from Wiesbaden takes place for the seventh time. Ten films were selected, all of which were ei ther made by directors born or living in Wiesbaden, or were shot on location in Wiesbaden. The program is part of series "Filmstadt Wiesbaden", founded in cooperation with the Cultural Offices, and includes four world premieres among others. The prize money of EUR 500 is awarded to the director of the winner film, sponsored by the Wiesbadener Kurier newspaper, the local media partner of exground filmfest. In addition, the winner gets the opportunity to use the technical equipment and expertise of the Wiesbaden audio studio "klangBezirk" for his final audio mix of his next film project. This "Filmsound Special" Award is worth approximately EUR 2,000. The winner of both awards – voted for by the audience via voting card – will be announced in the course of the award ceremony for the German Short Film Contest on November 20, 2011.
