HEY JAPANESE! DO YOU BELIEVE PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING? is a bittersweet black comedy, combining different stories happening at the same time in suburbs of Tokyo. Out of all places at a funeral a woman tells her married lover, that she’s expecting their baby; a group of bored school girls shoplifts in the supermarket and tortures the owner; two losers kill time in an apartment; two men and a girl meet in a warehouse; a man grudgingly goes with a prostitute – his girlfriend brushed him off; an bizarre rock musician is on his way to Tokyo – and a diabolic fashion designer plights innocent girls to make them stars.

In these cinematic fireworks by Ryotaro Muramatsu not more, not less than 58 protagonists mirror the crazy Japanese life.
