A BIT OF CHOCOLATE [UN POCO DE CHOCOLATE]
by Aitzol Aramaio
Spain 2007 35 mm 90 min. OV Engl. ST

Script: Aitzol Aramaio, Michel Gaztambide, DoP: Gonzalo Berridi, Production: Tusitala Producciones Cinematográficas, Cast: Bárbara Goenaga, Daniel Brühl, Héctor Alterio, Julieta Serrano

UN POCO DE CHOCOLATE is based on the successful novel "Un Tranvía en SP" by Unai Elorriaga. For the film version producer Luisa Matienzo and director Aitzol Aramaio got a (for Spanish measures) proper star cast on board. The great Argentine actor Héctor Alterio plays senile, old Lucas, desperately fighting against his physical and mental decay, loving to recall better times and dreaming of his loved one Rosa. Counterpart to the old man is young Marcos, who one day turns up in Lucas’ place – as squatter. The accordion player, having run from home, unable to explain his parents nor himself, what he properly wants and looks for, meets Roma. The nurse, painting in her free time, falls in love with Marcos and tries, to get his attention with all on-hand means. A game of hide and seek begins.
