A voice leads us thru the universe down to our planet. We fly over wide, earthy land and get farther and farther. You’ll dig yourself into the ground, feel for roots and hear the pulse of the earth. Ángel is an exterminator, specialized on fighting the wood louse. When fighting his fight in a remote village, two women fall in love with him. Married, coy Angela and stormy, sexhungry Mari, who also has an affair with Angela’s husband. While Ángel finds it hard to decide, which shows his latent schizophrenia, things turn over. In masterly manner of great, sensual cinema Julio Médem shows a duality thru Ángel, which is not limited to his schizophrenic personality, but lances thru virtually the whole world: the coexistence of love and sex, affection and contempt, tenderness and violence, maybe also of cosmos and "tierra".
