THE LOVERS OF THE ARCTIC CIRCLE makes the heart foam over. Otto and Ana have known each other from age eight. They meet after school and Otto falls for Ana head over heels. She holds her feelings so far. Years later Otto’s father and Ana’s mother get together. Children grow to teenagers, step siblings and secret lovers, finding their sexuality with relish. Their love is real and absolute – an alternative to the shattered relation ships of their parents. A fragile constellation escalating after short, when Otto’s mother dies. Otto attempts suicide, as this fails, he escapes the shattered idyll and gets trained as pilot. Along with his mother his dream of real love has died. His escape takes him to Lapland, where one day also Ana finds herself. Another coincidence, this time leaving them enough space to finally meet.
