Gógó begins acting strangely. Little things at first, but when she forgets to turn off the water and floods the neighbor’s apartment, Gógó must face the truth: Alzheimer’s. Her son’s problems suddenly pale when he realizes that he is losing the person closest to his heart. As Gógó retreats from the present, she finds herself returning more and more to a cheerier past, to a time when she was young and beautiful and happily in love.
Icelandic director Academy Award nominee Fridrik Thór Fridriksson applies his trademark humor and strong visual style to this semi-auto biographical story told with wit and compassion. Poking fun at his own Oscar-nominated film CHILDREN OF NATURE, as well as at Iceland’s political and financial world, Fridriksson nevertheless presents a moving tribute to his own mother in what he calls "a crazy comedy about filmmaking and Alzheimer’s!"
