A young man, author of avantgarde theatre plays, has himself committed to a psychiatric ward in order to escape army service. There he meets Rom, iconic figure of the drug scene and epitome of badness, celebrated as saviour by groupies. Scenes from life in psychiatry and childhood memories alternate with parables in aesthetic-decadent imagery.
The film is not about "who is mad – patients or doctors". We see brutal guards, provocations and rough humour. Trash, decadence and rock ’n’ roll team up with strong imagery, expressive music and aesthetics of unique style. Voloshin creates as opulent as cruel a fairy tale leaving nobody untouched.
