Since her father’s death 15-year old Elise (brilliantly played by Jasna Fritzi Bauer) lives alone with her mother Betty. As nurse in intensive care Betty saves the lives of others, while her own is in shambles. Her search for a new spouse again and again leads to disappointment, which she tries to make up for with booze, parties and one-night stands. She loses track of her life and also contact to her daughter. Her mom’s chaotic behavior and unsoundness force Elise to grow up quickly. She takes care of the household and keeps an eye on the finances. When Betty meets Ludwig, she thinks she’s found the ideal partner. Elise, sceptical at first, takes a liking for Ludwig. All of a sudden mother and daughter compete for Ludwig’s attention.
