WE, Rene Eller’s feature film debut, is an adaptation of the shocking novel WIJ by Elvis Peeters published 2014: a hot summer near the Dutch-Belgian border. Bored by the village suburban idyll, eight rebellious youths set out in search of distraction, fun and sex. The holiday adventure begins harmless and playfully. But the initially innocent sex games and little pranks become more and more violent and claim their victims. Professionally sold porn, prostitution and blackmail overwhelm the adolescents. Time killer turns into bitter earnestness. WE looks behind the moral facade of the suburb family homes.

RENE ELLER is a Dutch director and producer. With the foundation of Czar in 1990, he started his career as a casting director for television and commercials. He worked on music videos (e.g. for Boy George, “Die Toten Hosen” and “Zinoba”) and started the Miauw Project in 1997, which produces and initiates artistic and commercial projects. Since a couple of years he has fully immersed himself into the world of feature films. WE is his feature film debut.
