In the not so distant future. Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) has been working for three years on moon Selene, where he mines helium-3. A lonely job, since there’s no direct contact with home and his wife. The only one to talk to is roboter Gerty (spoken by Kevin Spacey). His return to earth approaches, but then strange things happen. A routine control goes wrong and Sam discovers that his employer has different plans for him. It gets clearer and clearer, that the life he thinks he leads, is not his own.
In his debut film Duncan Jones unfolds an intelligent and enigmatic sci-fi drama touching fundamental questions of human identity. The best science fiction-film in years.
