Crisis is today’s expression. There’s financial crisis, climate change, complex systems threatening to collapse. Like never before effects of human action are cumulating. Poverty, famines, and social distortion are on the horizon. But then there’s always been apocalyptic prediction, as well as unexpected loopholes. But what is next? What will the world look like, when it’s over and done with? Tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, beyond incertitude, the inevitable workflow, the world will look different.
"Morgen sehen wir weiter" (We’ll See Tomorrow) is the motto of the first Intervideo-Nachwuchspreis for students and future film professionals. 236 short films from 31 countries participated in the sections "documentary style", "free style/animation/graphics" and "fiction/short film". In quantity as well as spectrum of filmic expression it surpassed even the greatest expectations. The award ceremony at Caligari FilmBühne will present excerpts from short-listed films, before awarding and presenting the winning films.
