1969 – the summer of love. After summer holidays young Aborigine Willie has to go back from his native Broome to the far away boarding school, led by austere Father Benedictus. After a few days Willie can’t take it any longer and pulls out, off to exhausting way back home. He gets help from the tramp Tadpole and the hippies Annie and Slippery. But Father Benedictus is hard on his heels and in Broome the shady Lester is after his girl-friend Rosie. A turbulent pursuit through the Australian outback starts with ever new capers and unexpected turns. The fast-paced road movie from down under with screaming dancing and singing and an unusual love story was a box-ofice hit in Australian cinemas.
