Maria, a Colombian nurse who lost her daughter at the hands of three militiamen, travels to the Spanish Canary Islands to find one of the killers and get her revenge. She keeps with her a picture, showing a face, an inscription and a name: Ivan. Gonzalo, a school psychologist, joins Maria’s obsessive search. Meanwhile, Ivan and his girlfriend Vero are unaware that their lives are about to change forever.

Entirely plausible in her grim humorlessness and in her fleeting attempts to be happy, Maria eventually becomes tiresome in her obsessiveness, but Acosta ensures that the performance is not similarly wearying as she explores the nuances of a woman deranged by trauma." Biography: Samuel Martin Mateos, born in 1960 in Ordizia/Spain, began his career in Spanish television as director and producer of programs, and is deputy director of Canal Cultura. In 2009 he co-directed GUTS with Andrés Luque Pérez.
Andrés Luque Pérez was born in Madrid/Spain in 1959 and has so far produced numerous documentaries beside his collaborations with Mateos. He is executive producer at Canal Cultura.
