Short films are the salt in the soup of exground filmfest: as starter before feature-length films and in selected compilations. As every year for the festival start the favorite shorts of the exground filmfest team as BEST-OF program: ten entertaining shorts, in which M. A. Numminen sings in the sauna and Patti Smith takes stones to the grave of Jean Genet. Regular at our festival are shorts from Iran. The six films, among them three world premieres and two films by women, offer unusual glimpses into a country mostly hidden to us. We dedicated a program to short documentaries with the title WORK AND PLEASURE (ARBEIT UND VERGNÜGEN). Waiting for you: wannabe-beauty queens from Russia, an older prostitute from Belgium, tradition-conscious singers from Greece, a passionate tattooer from Singapore and three young Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. And of course we once again present the best, European short film had to offer in the past year – in the three programs of SHORT MATTERS! All you could probably expect in entertainment!
